Madame Tussaud's
Madame Tussaud’s
“Madame Tussaud’s“ is in London and one of the most famous museums in the world. It’s a wax museum. There are wax figures of famous people, for example athletes, actors, musicians, politicians and models.
There are many “Madame Tussaud’s” museums in the world. For example in Amsterdam, Hongkong, Las Vegas, Shanghai, Bangkok, Vienna, New York City, Washington D.C., Berlin and Hollywood.
Marie Tussaud from France founded “Madame Tussaud’s”. First she created her figures herself in 1802. In 1835 she opened the museum with her sons in Baker Street. She kept the museum until she died in 1850. In 1884 her grandson Joseph Randall moved the exhibition to the current location Marylebone Road.
In 1925 there was a horrible brand, but a few figures could be saved. In 1926 the company was a “Limited Company” and in 1928 it was reopened and a cinema was in it, too. But in 1940 the second scandal followed: In the Second World War the battle damaged about 5000 wax figures.
Since this happening the museum has worked on the extension of the exhibition.
The newest attractions are “The Spirit Of London”, “Scream” and the horror gallery.
The newest figures are Daniel Radcliffe, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss und Angela Merkel.
The specificity “Sleeping Beauty” was produced by Marie Tussaud. She has got a mechanism that looks like she would breathe.
There is a figure of Marie, too: It shows her at work.
